Nomis Connections is a company based in the UK providing a multitude of solutions for your business. They call themselves an “exclusive telecoms provider” and offer a range of landline, mobile, Internet and telephone solutions. Nomis offers expertise based on 40 years of experience in the telecoms industry and allows you to customize your VoIP package to best suit your business’s needs. The upside of this is that you have no wasted features and it could be adapted to home based businesses, freelancers or large offices. The downside of this is that there are no pre-prepared packages and prices.
The features available on the VoIP service, called Horizon, are extensive and easy to use. They enable you to maximize the potential of your business without taking up a huge amount of space in your office because they’re remotely hosted via the cloud, however if you do need hardware you can purchase handsets through Nomis Communications too.
Key features include three way calling, call transfer and hold options. You can easily repeat dial with the Last Number Redial feature and you can reject calls you don’t wish to receive with anonymous call rejection and selective call rejection features. There are conference-calling features that can be used from a computer or a mobile device and you can transfer a call to any internal or external number. The features are all fully compatible with mobile devices and many are also compatible with tablets. Security features are also available, such as only allowing authorised devices to access the system with an authorisation code.
There are multiple package and plan options based on a wide range of variables. The first level of choices you have is as follows:
After you’ve worked out how you want to distinguish yourself there is another set of options to choose from to narrow down the best way to find your ideal plan.
There are differing combinations of key features that you’ll be offered depending on what you choose to narrow down your options, but there are no price plans on offer until you speak to an advisor. As is very much the trend now, the service is tailored to what your business requires so rather than offering generic packages that you have to fit into, the VoIP service plan will fit around you and your business. It will grow with you and you can add or take away from it, as you need to. You’ll know that your quote is specifically for what you need and there’ll be no wasted space, money or features.
Unfortunately there are no ballpark figures to offer so it is difficult to ascertain whether Nomis Connections is a competitive company or not. However, more companies are structuring their pricing by giving tailored quotes rather than pre-prepared packages so this is definitely becoming a more common way of assessing the cost of VoIP services.
The software isn’t the easiest to navigate. It’s not difficult per se, but compared to other companies the style is not as coherent and the layout is much busier. It feels a bit overwhelming at first, like there’s a lot going on but not enough guidance to tell you how to get to where you want to be. However, once you’re used to the style of the graphics and the system of navigation, it’s not too bad. Those who are already tech savvy shouldn’t have a problem using it.
Customer service is great from Nomis. There are six offices across the UK and that means you may well have fairly local support provided. You can access support via requesting a call back, or you can email, telephone directly or submit a contact form 9am – 5.30pm Monday – Thursday, or 9am – 5pm on Friday. Although they don’t provide 24 hour support, the online support is extensive and there are user guides, video training guides and an FAQ section.
Nomis Connections is great for a company that knows what it needs and how to operate a VoIP system. Though not the easiest to navigate initially, the standard software comes with an excellent array of features and the security features on offer particularly stand out. Nomis would be ideal for a medium sized company that might require a lot of people to be using the services and yet wanted to stay on top of the usage and monitor it easily.
